Go Ye Therefore, and Teach All Nations... Matthew 28:19a

Welcome

Dear Friend,

My name is Larry Shetter.  My wife, Emily, and I believe, that God has led us to become missionaries. Our local church has confirmed this leading. We believe God has clearly directed in our lives to go preach the Gospel to the lost and assist in the planting and establishing local, New Testament, Baptist churches in the backcountry of Bolivia, South America.  We are with Baptist Pioneer Mission Board (BPM).

We have set up this website to inform pastors of our minstry and keep those praying and supporting our ministry updated. We sincerely hope that you will find the site informative as we express our burden for Bolivia. Please pray for us and feel free to drop us a note.

Dear Friends,
The last few weeks seem like they have flown by. We have officially been in Bolivia for one year as of yesterday!  This last year has been full of changes in many areas of our lives.  We have had to learn many new things to "survive" in a new culture and place but God's grace is sufficient.  Please continue to pray for us as we still have much to learn.
I have had the opportunity to preach twice in the last three weeks.  I preached in Pucara one week while Bro. Rader was in the states for BPM's mission institute.  Last weekend I had the opportunity to preach in the village of Vilcas.  The believers there are very friendly and kind to the "new" missionary who still talks funny.  These opportunities are good for my language and hopefully the people get something from the message as well!
Our family is doing well.  The kids are healthy and very busy outside playing with the neighbor kids.  There is an empty lot next door that the owners decided to build on. As a result the fence line was cleaned up and the kids discovered we have a couple little neighbor girls.  So our yard has become the local playground for the neighbors.  Our kids love it and Natalie is enjoying having some girls to play with.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we start a new year in Bolivia!

In Christ,

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for your prayers over the last couple of weeks.  Here are a few prayer requests and praises.
- I was able to go to El Oro this week with fellow missionary Devon Dosson and finish the wind sock installation on the airstrip.  A service was held there with the believers and about twenty five people attended.  Praise the Lord that I made it within a quarter mile of the house before a nail punctured my tire.
- We hosted a Childrens Bible Hour at our house the last couple days.  We had a few kids come and our neighbor boy Daniel came.  Jonathan was very excited he came to hear about Jesus!  Please pray for Daniel that he would get saved and that we could reach his family for Christ.
- I will be preaching in Pucara next Sunday the 22nd.  Emily will be teaching the childrens Sunday School here in Vallegrande for two weeks this month.  Please pray for both of us as preaching and teaching in Spanish is still not easy and that God would be glorified.
- We will be traveling to Santa Cruz next week for a couple days.  Please pray for safety on the roads and that we could accomplish what we desire while there.

Thanks for your faithful prayers and support.
In Christ,
Larry Shetter and family
